In 1992 Lorraine came to live in the Blue Mountains intending to write the great Australian novel but reignited her passion for painting instead. In the ensuing years she has established herself as a highly regarded artist both in the Blue Mountains and further afield. She has been the recipient of many prizes and awards during this time.
Lorraine is probably best known for her moody watercolour landscapes. For these she is constantly inspired by the wonderfully distinct seasonal changes around her and steps outside the ‘traditional’ approach to watercolours to bring a unique impressionistic touch to her work. On other occasions she works creatively with mixed media in a more abstract style.
Together with other local artists, Lorraine exhibits her paintings in the delightful gallery, Gallery Lane Leura.
