GRAND OPENING of “THE SHED” and 30th ANNIVERSARY of the BAS STUDIO.
SATURDAY 5th NOVEMBER
SATURDAY 5TH & SUNDAY 6TH NOVEMBER
The ‘Shed’ (formerly known as the clay shed) is having its official opening on the 5th of November. We received government funding to build it and will be inviting representatives of all three levels of government to this event.
We will also have some food, drinks, and a shed-shaped cake, at a time to be announced. Here’s your chance to talk to a politician, not to mention everybody else.
This year, 2022, marks the 30th anniversary of the opening of the studio and this also needs celebrating. So we decided to do it at the same time while we have dignitaries among us. To showcase our talents a retrospective exhibition to celebrate our history and cover the less than pristine walls seems like a good idea.
Anybody who has a work that has won First, Second, Commended, or Highly Commended in a BAS art show in good condition is invited to submit their work to be hung in the studio on the 5th and 6th of November. It can be for sale or NFS if you want to keep it. This is a great way to show the best that we can do on such a historical occasion.
If you have such a work and would like to participate please contact Sally at email@example.com.
We will also be holding our very successful ‘Unframed’ exhibition of works on paper in the back of the studio on the same day to take full advantage of the expected crowds.
Submissions close: 21st October 2022
Delivery of works: Wednesday 2nd November 2022, 2-6pm
Sale: 5th and 6th November 10am – 5pm
Collection of works: Sunday 6th November 5-6pm or Wednesday 9th November, 2-5pm
As if this wasn’t enough excitement, well wait there is more. We will be running all of the above as an ‘out of tent’ event with the Rhododendron Festival, which means our event will be included in their publicity and we will be part of their festival. Community involvement at last.

The committee has decided that for uniformity and consistency with regard to covid rules we will follow current NSW Health guidelines for all our activities. From 25th February masks will not be required to be worn in the studio. If you choose to wear one then that is fine. QR check-ins are no longer required. It is no longer necessary to show proof of vaccination to participate in any of our activities.
