Julie Paterson is a painter, a printmaker, a designer of textiles and a beginner potter.

She owns ClothFabric, a textile design business that she set up 30 years ago. She works with a small team making fabric the old-fashioned way - locally, all by hand. She has written a book about her creative process and an imperfect manifesto to live her life by. She believes everyone was born creative and every day is an opportunity to perform a new creative act. She is experienced in running creative workshops and loves nothing more than inspiring others to just have a go. She lives and works on Dharug and Gundungurra land in Blackheath. Surrounded by the bush, Julie takes her inspiration from her daily lived experience and the nature that is there, right outside her door.
