Monika Scarrabelotti is a Blue Mountains based multi-disciplinary artist. Her specialty lies in creating gestural figurative sculptures that engage with the human condition.
Monika seeks to create works that are emotionally raw, her sculptures traverse the sensual and voyeuristic, engaging the spectator in an intimate response. Drawing inspiration from folklore and mythology from her Italian and Irish heritage, her recent work exploring themes around human interaction with the natural environment, eco- anxiety and the climate crisis.
Monika completed her Undergraduate in sculpture at National Art School in 2013, followed by a Masters in Fine Art at in 2017. During her Post Graduate degree, Monika was mentored into teaching sculpture classes at NAS, shortly followed by joining a team of passionate art educators at the Tom Bass Sculpture Studio in Sydney where she has taught for the past seven years, alongside her studio practice.
Monika exhibits regularly, and has a growing number of artworks in Australian private and public collections.
