BArtS Open Day

In addition to seeing all the portraits submitted for the Bartchibald Prize, there’s a lot going on. There will be demonstrations by tutors. You’ll get to meet the convenors of the studio groups, to see what’s a good fit for you. There will be collaborative art for adults and children. Julie Paterson will be running her Anyone Can Draw workshop, which involves experimental drawing and a range of techniques to get you loose and confident.

Open day offers the chance to contribute a tile to our collaborative art installation. We’ll have wooden tiles made from plywood offcuts for people to decorate on the day with printing, painting, sketching or collage. Together these tiles will be mounted to form an inspiring entrance to the BARTS building, showcasing the talent and joy in making art together. That’s what we are all about, after all.

As you get amongst it all, you’ll be able to enjoy hot soup, cheese and bread, and coffee and cakes.
