Sculpting the Figure in Clay with Monika Scarrabelotti

Join artist and tutor Monika Scarrabelotti for this exciting new weekend workshop modeling from life in clay.

Perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike, this course is designed as a unique opportunity to build a sculpture in clay, working directly from a nude life model. Clay, an ancient and highly versatile material allows for a tactile and meditative experience while modeling.

Guided by Monika, participants will develop skills in understanding sculptural fundamentals such as form, balance and structure, as well as human anatomy and proportion. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with various techniques and styles to develop their work. The sculptures will be built without an armature – creating a freestanding ceramic sculpture that can be fired at the studio when dry.

Tickets: Early bird members $230 (pay before Feb 2), members $260, non-members $285
